Reviews
The sign itself is good: hazard symbol and warning are easy to see when you’re close. We mounted it on a metal gate at our Manchester warehouse. My only minor criticism is that from the driver’s seat of a tall lorry, if approaching fast, the sign might be a little small to catch the eye from far away. For slower traffic or on-site vehicles it’s fine — but for public roads or fast-moving lorries a larger sign or extra warnings might be better.
I installed this sign on a gate at our small depot in Stockport. It’s straightforward but very effective the hazard symbol plus the wording makes everyone pause and think twice before driving under overhead cables. For the price it's good value, and I like that it’s suitable for outdoor use. No complaints — I’d recommend it to any site manager dealing with overhead power lines or height-restricted passes.
We used the self-adhesive vinyl version because we didn’t want to drill into our fence post. It stuck well at first and looked neat. However — after a few weeks of damp and cold weather, I’m a bit concerned about longevity. If you’re installing outdoors, especially in unpredictable UK weather, you might want to secure it with screws or weather-proof fixings for a more permanent result. Still, as a low-cost warning sign for short-term works it does what it should.
We put this “Danger Overhead Cables Height Limit” sign up on the entrance to our yard just outside Manchester, and it really does the job. The yellow and black hazard symbol and “Danger Overhead Cables” text are bold and noticeable - even on a dull, grey UK day - so anyone driving a van or truck sees it immediately before coming under the cables. We chose the rigid-plastic version, mounted it to a post, and it’s still sturdy after weeks of rain and wind. Great safety investment — it could easily prevent a serious accident if a high vehicle tries to pass.
